Dodge These Balls - Amiga
A downloadable game
We have just released our first game for classic Amiga computers: Dodge These Balls!
The game is a mini-game in which you have to dodge the gray balls with a red ball for as long as you can. These increase in number over time, making the game more difficult and inevitably leading to a collision. The longer you last, the more points you get.
The mini-game is intended as a fun way to play and compare high scores between games. A local high score list helps you compare scores.
Why this game?
Dodge These Balls is a small mini-game for you Amiga users that we hope will be a bit of fun. For us, it paves the way for development on classic Amigas.
On the technical side, an initial version of the game engine was used, which implements functions such as blitter objects, collisions, sound, loading and saving local high scores, and displaying and moving graphic objects.
On the graphics side, we first had to learn how to create pixel graphics and save them with the necessary palette for use in the game. The goal was the Amiga OCS chipset, with its limited palette compared to AGA. All graphics were created in Deluxe Paint 4, which was an additional challenge, but simply more fun.
Since we had to start from scratch on classic Amigas from a technical and graphical perspective, the game "Dodge These Balls" may be a small mini-game for Amiga users, but a big step for EntwicklerX, paving the way for us to further develop the Amiga.

Thomas and Frank from EntwicklerX have started a Patreon page to share early information about game development, with a focus on games for AmigaOS4 and classic Amigas. Development for the original Amiga computers will proceed gradually, from free mini-games to larger commercial products. These small games serve as the basis for larger projects and integrate new features that will be incorporated into the more comprehensive games. Every donation allows us to invest more time in the projects and advance them.
You can also support the developers by purchasing the games here on Itch, Steam, the Google Play Store, or various game consoles.
Playable on Amiga 500 + Kickstart 1.3 and above.
1.1 When adding to the high score list, it is now possible to delete a letter.
1.2 Fixed crash that occurred on 68060 processors
1.3 Keyboard support added, now you can also control the game with the arrow keys/return and enter your name in the highscore list using the keyboard.

Hello, in my last issue of Retro News Flash, I covered the game Battle for Frost and ran a short report on it. It's a really great game, I really liked it.Apologies for the occasional misspelling of the name. ;-)
Hello, thanks for the great Video and thanks for playing! Misspelling is no problem ;)
Hi EntwicklerX,
Great game indeed, congratulations! Our Amiga Vault Team is specialized in the creation/conversion of Amiga games and programs in standard WHDLoad format with specific slave, custom splash screen, hybrid icon (OldIcon+NewIcon+ColorIcon) compatible with all AmigaOS and readme files if available.
As we did with some Amiga games released in the past months (Ami-H.E.R.O, A100, AMIner, AmiSeaFox, Better Dead Than Zed, Doll Maker, Ghosts 'n Goblins AGA, , Hyper Wings, Krogharr, Metro Siege, NeonNOIR, Noisy Rabbit, Phantasy Star 2, Rex And The Galactic Plague, Sky Shapers, Soltys (Demo), Vigilante, Wardner, Wings Of Fear, Yoomp! and many more), we have converted your game to WHDLoad (see pictures below) and also to other formats specific to certain real/emulated Amiga platforms (CD32->ISO, FPGA->HDF, THEA500->ADF/LHA/UAE), and we make them available absolutely FREE so that you can use them - and possibly consider including them among the downloads here on itch.io - as versions Alternatives for your benefit and that of the entire Amiga community: what do you think of our proposal? It would be an honor, a pleasure, and a source of great pride for us to collaborate with you! :)
If you think this work we've done for you might be useful and would like to test its functionality, you can contact us at our project support email address amigavault.contribution@gmail.com so we can share the package containing all alternative versions we adapted from your game.
Thank you in advance for your feedback and anyway for your valuable work developing games on our lovely Amiga platform! ^_^
Best Regards
Amiga Vault Team

Hello! Sorry for the long delay. I just found the time to upload. Thanks again for your help!!!
Works now on real 68060. Thank you for fixing!
Great! We are happy that it works now!
Nice new game, the difficulty level naturally increases the more balls there are. I have also included it in my new video along with other recently released games. Hope you like it.
Great! Thanks for your video and playing our Dodge These Balls ;) We hope that you can play more games from us in near future...
Nice game!
Thanks for your video and a great Highscore 😀
Very cool! Thank you!
Thank you for entering the Amiga classic OS3 market. Looking forward to your future projects!
